With more golf holes per capita than any other US city, Naples is known as the Golf Capital of the World. Year-round sunshine, balmy breezes and acclaimed courses make Naples and its neighbouring areas an undisputed haven for great golf. Courses here not only offer a challenge, they are carved from forests of pine and palm, and laced with lagoons, marshes and cypress swamps - a haven for wildlife.

Almost without exception the majority of the Golf Courses have been developed as part of a Golfing Community which in most cases have a 24 hour gated monitored access. Tee times are required and can be booked either your Pro or direct with the course. Golf Carts are normally obligatory but some courses allow trolleys or carrying in the late afternoons. There are three types of courses Public, Semi-Private and Private. Unless you are yourself staying on one the Golf Communities and have taken over the Membership for the period of your stay access to Semi-Private and Private courses can be extremely difficult and expensive.

Another factor is that the majority of the Communities restrict owners to the number of times in a year their home can be rented - often as little as three or four times a year. In addition there is also a minimum rental period. It is therefore obvious that the number of rental properties available with the Membership benefits are limited - but this is our particular speciality!

When renting a property on one of the golf communities in Naples you can take over the membership of the golf club from the owner of your property for a transfer fee of approximately $100 to $150 per couple. This entitles you and your partner to use the full facilities the member enjoys, including playing golf on the community's course for a much reduced fee or just a cart fee depending on the community rules and use of the clubhouse, tennis courts, fitness centre, etc. Also, it means that you can join in the social events at the clubhouse, make friends and use the restaurant for entertaining. One of the major benefits of renting in the "off" season, from May to October inclusive, is that you can take advantage of the "reciprocal" golf season. Within the Naples area there are over 75 golf courses and during this period you are entitled to play at a selected list of clubs - the choice is normally over 40 courses - in the reciprocal scheme for the price of a cart fee or a much reduced green fee, depending on the club involved. Many of these courses command green fees of over $100 during "In" season. All you have to do to take advantage of this excellent offer is to pay a transfer fee to take over the membership of the club from the owner of your property - this will then entitle you and your partner to participate.
